Headlines:
- Don't see much progress on the "3-legged stool" of sustainability, especially on global level.
- Sense some progress & see some catalysts for more progress (UN Decade, US Partnership)
- Who is going to take the giant steps & what would those steps be?
- In our respective organizations, we can all put ideas forward.
- Sustainability - conflict between big picture & "chunking" have to look at both.
- We need to be telling the story better and measuring progress.
- Somewhere in the details of E.O.s (ex. 13148) might be some of the answers for prioritization, measurement, etc.
- We need a network of networks to communicate better, get a sense for the progess being made, and whether we are doing the right work.
- We have some good stories but need to publicize them better.
- Establish some type of sustainability metric/measures.
- Need to analyze where and how federal government could impact sustainability best (maybe a role for OFEE).
- Look at seminal paper on sustainability measures and indicators by Donella Meadows.
